2014 Thanksgiving Lunch 2014サンクスギビングランチ

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone in the U.S.A. are celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends.  We had the first snow yesterday, and we had some snow again today, and it turned to be white Thanksgiving Day!  I started cooking around 9:30 a.m. this morning. I was not in a rush, I was doing little by little, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade on TV.  Somehow, I finished around 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.  This was not something I expected, but anyway, it turned to be Thanksgiving Lunch instead of Thanksgiving Dinner this year!
I wanted to make something different, so some of these may not be the traditional Thanksgiving foods but they are still festive and have good benefits for skin!  These are pickled cauliflowers with carrots or purple daikon.  They are lightly pickled so that it would appear for people who normally do not like sour foods.

This is a gratin with two different kinds of pumpkins, carrots, and orange cauliflowers.  This year, I made this, instead of traditional stuffing.
As for turkey, I got breast, as there was someone who would not eat legs.
This is creamed pearl onions with Brussels sprouts and pomegranates.  I have been making creamed pearl onions for this Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this time, I added Brussels sprouts and pomegranates, and the color turned to be more cheerful!
This kale salad has persimmon, avocado, black olive, walnuts, pomegranate, and goat cheese.  All foods which are good for the skin!

As for soup, I prepared carrot ginger soup!  This was very good!
Bon appetite!
The dessert was pumpkin pie with whipped cream.  This was very traditional!  I am full now!  I started early this year, and as a result, I can not take it easy and I like that.  I told my family to help themselves to eat the leftover if they become hungry later!
